New sketch show

Tonight at 10 p.m. IFC debuts the Canadian import “Baroness Von Sketch Show,” a quartet of women who star in a series of sketches, including “Red Wine Ladies.”

“They’re women who get together probably, like, once a year or every eight months and get wasted together,” said star Carolyn Taylor. “They are the last table to be served at a wedding.”

While these characters recur, mostly “Baroness Von Sketch Show” does not have recurring characters the way “Portlandia” does. And they don’t feature impersonat­ions offamous figures either.

“The things we tend to focus on are human dynamics and the relatabili­ty to that,” said series star Meredith MacNeill. “So sometimes you might see a recurring dynamic appear throughout the sketches.”

Cast member Aurora Brown said the show’s characters are mostly a reflection of peoples’ imperfecti­ons.

“We do impression­s of your family members and your co-workers,” said cast member Carolyn Taylor.
