Scottsdale, Ariz., is the most pet-friendly city in the country and Newark, N.J., is the least, according to WalletHub, the personal finance website.

Pittsburgh is about average — 47th on the list of 100 large cities. Philadelph­ia is 93rd and Cincinnati is No. 8.

The annual cost of caring for a pet ranges from $227$2,000, WalletHub says, and where you live can greatly influence costs, especial for veterinary care and pet insurance.

Pittsburgh ranks 26th in outdoor pet friendline­ss, 45th in pet budget rank and 82nd in pet wellness.

The other top 10 petfriendl­y cities are: Phoenix; Tampa, Fla.; San Diego; Orlando, Fla.; Birmingham, Ala.; Austin, Texas; Cincinnati; Atlanta; and Las Vegas.

At the bottom of the list are Charlotte, N.C.; Anchorage, Alaska; Philadelph­ia; Buffalo, N.Y.; Santa Ana, Calif.; Boston; New York; Honolulu; Baltimore; and Newark, N.J.
