Pittsburgh is about average — 47th on the list of 100 large cities. Philadelphia is 93rd and Cincinnati is No. 8.
The annual cost of caring for a pet ranges from $227$2,000, WalletHub says, and where you live can greatly influence costs, especial for veterinary care and pet insurance.
Pittsburgh ranks 26th in outdoor pet friendliness, 45th in pet budget rank and 82nd in pet wellness.
The other top 10 petfriendly cities are: Phoenix; Tampa, Fla.; San Diego; Orlando, Fla.; Birmingham, Ala.; Austin, Texas; Cincinnati; Atlanta; and Las Vegas.
At the bottom of the list are Charlotte, N.C.; Anchorage, Alaska; Philadelphia; Buffalo, N.Y.; Santa Ana, Calif.; Boston; New York; Honolulu; Baltimore; and Newark, N.J.
