Get ready to race

If you like animals and like to run, join the Paws Over Pittsburgh Marathon Team, which is raising money for Humane Animal Rescue’s shelters in Pittsburgh and Verona.

Although the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon isn’t until May, training has started. Go to www.humaneanimalrescue.org/ events to register or for information. Or call Melissa Smith at 412-345-7300, ext. 204.

In 2017, the shelter team raised $115,00 for animals in the Homewood and North Side shelters and the wildlife rehabilitation center in Verona. The goal for 2018 is $125,000.
