OUR QUESTIONS, HIS ANSWERS

-

Were you any good at baseball? They called me ‘Big Papi’ because I was chunky like him and I was just a power hitter. I would just hit home runs.

Your team lost so many good linemen from last year, especially on the offensive line. Is that worrisome? At first, it worried me. But I started to think that our offensive line went against that great defensive line the past two years in practice. Those [backup offensive linemen] would give us a great battle. So I’ve been thinking that they’re now ready for this.

You guys were the team to beat in the WPIAL the past two years. Is there a different feeling this year? Not really, because we’re still the team to beat. Even though everyone is talking about Pine-Richland, you still have to beat us first. I can’t wait until we play PineRichland. We’ll just have to wait to see what happens. So, do you buy Pine-Richland is the No. 1 team in 6A? Of course not Even with all the players they have back? We’re still No. 1.

You averaged 11 yards a carry last year, but had only 33 carries. Are you telling

coachthe ball Terry more? Totten Yeah, youI am need [laugh]. Will it happen? I think so. Well, I hope so [laugh].

What feels better, to smash someone with a block or getting a sack? Getting a sack. You get hyped up with your defense when you get a sack. Any nicknames for you? Oh yeah. Fat Boy, Bam Bam. Big Papi. Why Fat Boy? You’re not

fat? That’s my brothers at home that call me that. They say I eat everything in the house. People might be surprised to know … I can’t swim.
