Seahawks bolster line with Richardson
Seattleacquired defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson from the New York Jets Friday in exchange for wide receiver Jermaine Kearse and a 2018 second-round draft pick, bolstering a defense that was already considered among the best in the NFL.
The clubs will also swap seventh-round picks in 2018 as part of the deal.
Landing Richardson solidifies the interior of Seattle’s defensive line and quells some of the concerns raised by the uncertainty surrounding rookie secondround draft pick Malik McDowell.
Richardson has spent his entire career with the Jets after being picked in the first round in 2013 and he was a Pro Bowl selection after the 2014 season.
Browns
Cleveland finally gave up on their attempt to trade Brock Osweiler, cutting the veteran quarterback in a flurry of roster moves.
Vikings
Minnesota acquired Seahawks cornerback Tramaine Brock for a seventhround pick in a trade that gives the team an experienced option for its secondary just before the start of the regular season.
