Awards and Honors
Avere Systems said chief technology officer and cofounder Michael Kazar was named a recipient of the Association for Computing Machinery Software System Award. He has been honored for the co-development of the Andrew File System, the first distributed file system designed for the use of scalable, secure and ubiquitous access to shared file data.
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers selected Christopher Wilmer, assistant professor of chemical and petroleum engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, as its 2017 recipient of the Young Investigator Award for Modeling and Simulation. The AIChE Computational Molecular Science and Engineering Forum presents the award annually to an individual who received his or her highest degree within the past seven years.
