‘Supernatural’ con scares up Jeffrey Dean Morgan
The “Supernatural” convention is coming back to Pittsburgh, and this time Sam and Dean's dad is tagging along. Jeffrey Dean Morgan — the cheerfully sadistic Negan on “The Walking Dead” and the heartbreaking Denny Duquette on “Grey's Anatomy” — also played John Winchester, father to “Supernatural's” Sam and Dean — Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.
The three Winchesters will appear on Sunday only, the third day of Creation Entertainment's Supernatural Official Convention, Sept. 8-10 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Downtown.
This is the second straight year in Pittsburgh for the convention celebrating The CW series that claims the title for the longest-running sci-fi/fantasy television show in the United States. With stars Ackles and Padalecki in attendance, the convention attracted more than 3,000 fans last summer. The tentative schedule of appearances: Friday — Richard Speight Jr., Rob Benedict, Matt Cohen, Kim Rhodes, Briana Buckmaster, Gil McKinney.
Saturday — Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard, Richard Speight Jr., Rob Benedict, Matt Cohen, Kim Rhodes, Briana Buckmaster, Gil McKinney, Jake Abel.
Sunday — Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Mark Sheppard, Richard Speight Jr., Rob Benedict, Samantha Smith.
General admission/preferred seating: $45/$100 on Friday, $80/$100 on Saturday and $145/$150 Sunday. Weekend packages range from $265-$1,550. Photo-op and autograph tickets are sold separately. Details: creationnet.com.
