Huntertrapper education scheduled

Early archery in Wildlife Management Unit 2B has opened, the first small-game seasons start in a month and rifle deer will be here before you know it, especially if you’re among the would-be hunters who each year put off completing the Pennsylvania Hunter-Trapper Education Course until it’s too late.

The certificate is required of all first-time hunters and trappers regardless of age before purchasing a license. The training includes about four hours of independent online study that must be completed before six hours of classroom instruction prior to taking the test. Register for classes and to access the online training by logging on www.pgc.state.pa.us and clicking on the Hunter-Trapper Education Classes link. Participants have to be at least 11 years old.
