Elliott’s fate in courtroom, but he will play Sunday

-

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will play at least two more games under a temporary injunction, blocking a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, before a federal appeals court hears his case.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans posted a notice Friday that it would hear oral arguments between the NFL and NFL Players Association Oct. 2 on the NFL’s motion for an emergency stay of the temporary injunction.

In another unrelated case, Elliott received 180 days of deferred adjudication probation after pleading guilty to a speeding ticket.

Elliott, 22, was cited on April 4 after his 2016 Dodge Charger was clocked traveling 100 mph in a 70 mph zone on the Dallas North Tollway.

Browns

Rookie defensive end Myles Garrett is close to making his NFL debut. The top pick has missed Cleveland’s first two games because of a right-ankle sprain, but coach Hue Jackson would not rule him out this week against Indianapolis.

Vikings

Coach Mike Zimmer ruled out quarterback Sam Bradford against Tampa Bay because of an ailing left knee and will give Case Keenum his second start.

Redskins

Coach Jay Gruden said that cornerback Josh Norman, tight end Jordan Reed and running back Rob Kelley are among five players who will be game-time decisions against Oakland.
