When and where: Saturday night at LUXE Creative Studio TWO, Point Breeze

#DreamInLight: A new event space in Point Breeze -— illuminated with glowing blue and purple lights - — was transformed Saturday night into another world, a futuristic spaceship of sorts, beaming us up to a party planet with magical moments by magician Lee Terbosic and performances by the incredibly talented CAPA students. This also was one of the most fashionable crowds I have #SEEN all year, with guests such as Casey Pratkanis, Rachel Kennedy, Mara Leff, Gretta Barton and Sam Ditka bringing the bling as they shimmered with 600 guests who came to support the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh. “We wanted to do something different this year, to shake things up,” said executive director Jan Glick. “But the mission is the reason we are all here. Mentorship changes lives.”

Those words rang true to “Big” Deji Aina who brought his “Little” 11-yearold, Jordan (in the most awesome bowtie of the night).

“I wanted to make a difference in my community,” said Mr. Aina. “But what I didn’t realize was that I would get more out of it than he does!” he added, smiling at Jordan, who replied: “Big Brothers Big Sisters is everything to me. To have a black male figure in my life is great.” Talk about out of this world!

#SEEN: Event chairs Kate Lambert, Garret Gibson and Howard Swimmer; David Conrad, Dr. Vonda Wright and Peter Taglianetti, Dr. Lisa Cibik and Bernie Kobosky, Ali Good Linville and Brian Linville, Dan Gorchynsky, Ryan Lammie, Becca Rozic and Ned Schano, Erin Baker and Allegheny County Councilman Tom Baker, Peggy and Steve McKnight with son Steven, Tori Mistick, Anne Stone, Amit Grover, Dan Gigler, Shruti and Anil Gupta.
