4 Fox Chapel teens injured in crash

Four members of Fox Chapel Area High School’s golf team were injured Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash.

The crash occurred about 11:15 a.m. at Field Club and Hickory Hill roads in Fox Chapel.

Fox Chapel police Chief David Laux said it appears the SUV the teenagers were in was speeding on Field Club Road when it hit a hillside and overturned.

The driver was trapped upside down in the SUV, Chief Laux said, adding that emergency crews needed several hours to extract him. The driver was taken to UPMC Presbyterian because of leg injuries, he said. The three passengers were taken to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC because of injuries that appeared to be minor.
