Duquesne wins fourth consecutiv­e against RMU

QB Stuart throws five touchdowns in 51-14 victory

Graduate transfer quarterbac­k Tommy Stuart threw a career-high five touchdown passes and freshman defensive back Aaron Morton returned an intercepti­on 64 yards for a touchdown as Duquesne defeated Robert Morris, 51-14, on Saturday.

The Dukes (5-1, 2-0 Northeast) have won four consecutiv­e games in the rivalry series. Stuart, who threw four touchdowns in each of the Dukes’ last two games, connected with Kellon Taylor on a 23-yard scoring pass before his 17-yarder to junior wide receiver Nehari Crawford put Duquesne up for good, 14-7. Stuart completed 14-of-21 passes for 219 yards.

The Dukes, who have won five in a row, outgained the Colonials 457-248 in total yards and held the Colonials to 86 rushing yards. A.J. Hines gained 130 yards on 19 carries and junior running back P.J. Fulmore scored on a 2-yard run for the Dukes.

Senior defensive back Drew Allen, whose twin brother Stew is a tight end for the Dukes, intercepte­d a Stuart first-quarter pass and returned it 48 yards for a touchdown. Redshirt freshman Harrison Dreher scored on a 1yard run for Robert Morris (24, 0-1). Jimmy Walker threw for 162 yards but completed just 12-of-30 passes and was picked off twice.

IUP 34, Slippery Rock 17: The No. 3-ranked Crimson Hawks ran for 384 total yards and slowed down No. 9ranked The Rock, which entered Saturday’s game averaging 44 points per game. IUP is 7-0 for the first time since 2001. California 21, Clarion 19: The Vulcans scored all of their points in the second quarter and held Clarion to 84 yards of total offense en route to winning their 13th consecutiv­e homecoming game. Gannon 76, Seton Hill 31: The Golden Knights rushed for a PSAC-record 567 yards to spoil Seton Hill’s homecoming.

Carnegie Mellon 42, Geneva 27: Junior QB Alex Cline led the Tartans with a careerhigh 324 passing yards to go with three passing touchdowns, and senior WR John Prather recorded his fourthcons­ecutive 100-yard game.

Washington & Jefferson 49, Bethany 14: The No. 15 Presidents scored the final 35 points and were led by senior wide receiver Jesse Zubik, who became the second player in PAC history to tally 4,000 career receiving yards. He caught seven passes for 111 yards and one touchdown.

Case Western Reserve 63, Thiel 28: The No. 16 Spartans matched program records with 49 points in the first half and 28 in the second quarter. They were a touchdown short of setting the record for points in a game.

Thomas More 59, Waynesburg 7: The Saints outgained the Yellow Jackets 554 yards to 196 and were led by quarterbac­k Brenan Kuntz’s 196 passing yards and four touchdowns.

Westminste­r 49, Grove City 27: Senior QB Paul Columbo threw for 231 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 94 yards and a touchdown, tying his career high in total touchdowns for the Titans.
