#SEENHotSpot: fl. 2

I’m making a (not-sospooky) prediction on the eve of Halloween this year that the hottest place in town to be #SEEN in coming months will be the new restaurant inside the Fairmont Hotel: fl.2 (floor two). I got a sneak peek of the fabulous new space during its grand opening event on Wednesday night and was blown away by the incredible transformation of the Downtown space where Habitat used to inhabit. “We were up to the challenge to make this unlike anything that Pittsburgh has seen. We are proud of Pittsburgh, proud of our restaurant and wanted that to shine through,” said general manager Matthew Sterne. Renowned Barcelona-based designer Lazaro Rosa-Violan led the charge for metamorphosis, with the desire to create something warm and inviting but also electric. With the new lush color palette, brass accents and mid-century modern furnishings complete with a fireplace, the new space that serves “modern American” cuisine welcomes patrons with open arms. This was what I’ve been waiting for (and what Pittsburgh needed). Sit at its fabulous new bar that seats 25, order some oysters from the raw bar, enjoy some plates meant to be shared and take it all in. Pittsburgh, you have arrived.
