Yelp’s Haunted History Party

#Boo: Getting into the spiritof Halloween were dead yinzersfro­m ScareHouse and Kennywood. Andy Warhol, a Penguin’s hockey player, an Industrial era robber baron and others walked zombie like among the nearly 800 guests at Yelp’s annual Haunted History inside Heinz History Center in the Strip District on Thursday night. The party, to benefit the History Center, was organized for the sixth year by Rachel Carlson, Pittsburgh communityd­irector for Yelp.

“I think it is a way to introduce the community to great local businesses,” she said, referring to the 30 vendors set up with food and drink on four floors of the building. A Haunted History Tour included actors from Arcade Comedy Theater, bringing the past to life in a creepy, ghoulish manner. There was an Escape Room for guests wanting a challenge and DJD PGH kept the tunes spinning while 11year-old contortion­ist Isabella Gantt entertaine­d.

Among those who came costumed and ready to scare up some fun were Linda Weissert, dressed as a witch; Latoyia Clark and Tracy Guerrant as Cleopatra and King Tut; Katelyn McLaughlin and Ray Mendez as Beetlejuic­e and Lydia; Nichole Hill and Leslie Clark as Raggedy Ann and Andy; Elaine Oestreich, dressed as the Stanley Cup with her boyfriend Ian Fitzgerald; Britney Cohen as Michonne from “The Walking Dead” and zombies Emily Vaskov and Alysa Eisher from ScareHouse. Other costumed revelers included Matt Phillips, Natalie and Jon Hnat, Sara Walling, Dead Yinzer from Kennywood Christophe­r Hykes, Jason and Melissa Clark from Arcade Comedy Theater, Terri Galloway, Kristen Lingle, Terri HillTrent, Sean Christense­n, Kerry May, Hannah Zenisek and Kerri Meeks-Griffin.
