Cambria County medical practice files Chapter 11

A Cambria County physicians’ practice has filed for protection from creditors under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Advanced Vascular Resources of Johnstown LLC cited its assets and estimated liabilities, among them $498,015 owed to the Philadelphia law office of Blank Rome LLP, according to the filing.

Bridgeville gun dealer, practice range declares bankruptcy

A Bridgeville gun dealer and practice range is reorganizing financially after declaring bankruptcy under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Iron City Armory LLC cited assets ranging up to $50,000 and liabilities between $100,000 and $500,000, including $54,898 owed to firearms distributor Amchar Wholesale Inc. of Buffalo, N.Y., and $19,729 owed to Pittsburgh-based Lamar Advertising.

Firm becomes 1st in U.S. to offer online virtual sports betting

The company behind internet gambling website PlaySugarHouse.com became the first in the U.S. to let gamblers bet real money online on the outcome of virtual sports events. Chicagobased Rush Street Interactive received approval from New Jersey regulators to let patrons bet online on the outcome of virtual computergenerated sporting “events,” including soccer, horse, dog and vehicle racing. Its site and mobile app launched Wednesday, and is only available to people physically in New Jersey. The approval comes as the U.S. Supreme Court gears up to hear New Jersey’s case next month seeking to legalize sports betting in the 46 states.

Bezos fortune hits $100 billion on Black Friday stock surge

Jeff Bezos is the world’s newest $100 billion mogul. The Amazon.com founder’s fortune is up $2.4 billion to $100.3 billion as the online retailer’s shares jumped more than 2 percent on optimism for Black Friday sales. Online purchases for the day are up 18.4 percent over last year, according to data from Adobe Analytics, and investors are betting the company will take an outsized share of online spending over the gifting season.
