New year brings more ink, talky kids and Snooki

How appropriat­e that news about Spike TV’s “Ink Master” season 10 has been released, drop by drop.

What fans do know: Pittsburgh’s Pyramid Tattoo owner Rachel Helmich is going to be part of the cast. The season premiere is 10 p.m. Jan. 9.

What’s new: Three former winners (Steve Tefft, DJ Tambe and Anthony Michaels) will have a pool of 24 candidates from which to choose. Teams of six are chosen,and the past winners will mentor them through the dramathat is “Ink Master.”

The winning artist and the winning mentor each receive $100,000. The returning host is Dave Navarro, with the brutally honest Chris Nunez and Oliver Peck judging.

In other reality news:

• Be very afraid: MTV is bringing back some of the cast of “Jersey Shore” for a new series next year. In a press release touting the global popularity of the original 2009-2012 program (Mexico has “Acapulco Shore,” Poland has “Warsaw Shore” — seriously?), it promises more booze-soaked drama from originals Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. Pass the suntan lotion. • Kids — and Ricky Gervais — say the darnest things. “Child Support,” a game show hosted by Fred Savage and featured around Mr. Gervais’ quick wit, premieresJ­an. 5 on ABC (8 p.m.)

Contestant­s have to answer a series of questions, and, if they’re stumped, can look to Mr. Gervais and a panel help.

• And finally, Fox’s upcoming “The Four” has a host: Fergie.

Rob Wade, president of alternativ­e programmin­g and specials at Fox Broadcasti­ng Company called the Black- of kids ages 6-9 for Eyed Peas singer “a genuine superstar ... She’s fierce. She’s a force in her own right.”

The fun starts Jan. 4.
