SHADYSIDE: Amnesty Internatio­nal’s Group 39 of Pittsburgh will host its 31st annual Write-A-Thon from 6 to 9 p.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church, located at Shady Avenue and Alder Street. “Freedom Writers” will write letters for 10 non-violent prisoners-of-conscience. OAKLAND: The University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform at 8 p.m. in the Bellefield Hall auditorium. Free.
