Of McCandless, PA, passed away peacefully on Sat., December 2, 2017, at The Cranberry Place, Cranberry Twp. John was born to the late Dr. John B. and Nancy J. Blakley on January 15, 1948, in Erie, Pennsylvan­ia. He was the eldest of three children. John attended Shadyside Academy, Grove City College, and Slippery Rock University. John served in the US Army Reserve from 1970-1976. He was an Elementary School Counselor at Rockwood Elementary in Rockwood, PA. John is survived by his siblings, William M. (Nancy) Blakley, San Jose, CA and Melissa A. (Thomas) Weber, Fombell, PA; his nieces and nephews, Coreen (Charlie) Lemcke, Kevin Blakley, Kayla Blakley, Sydney L. Weber, Thomas “Blake” Weber; and great-nephews, Jack and Carson Lemcke. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nancy; and his uncle, Thomas M. Blakley. John was an avid golfer, handball player, and sports enthusiast. He enjoyed a great game of gin, chess, and billiards. John was known for his kindhearte­d nature, his love of many longtime dear friends and family, we thank you all for your love and support. Family and friends are welcome to visit and celebrate his life on Saturday, January 13, 2018, from 10 a. m.- 12 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF
