Molly’s Trolleys decides to close at end of month

-

Transportation company Molly’s Trolleys announced Friday it will close at the end of the month after more than 20 years in business.

But the trolleys might not be rolling away for good.

Thecompany — which also owns Just Ducky Tours — said it was seeking a buyer who could give the operation the attention it needs.

“While both businesses have been robust, we have discovered that the success — particularly of Just Ducky, which has doubled its growth in the past several years — has outpaced our ability to give both businesses the attention they need to continue this upward trajectory,” Just Ducky co-founder Michael Cohen said in a statement. “While Molly’s Trolleys was a wonderful business opportunity, we have made a strategic decision to focus our efforts solely on our flagship business, Just Ducky, which we’ve been growing for 20 years.”

Molly’s Trolleys opened in 1995 as an expansion of a business school project by founder Molly Stahlman. Just Ducky Tours bought the company in 2011.

The company has provided transportation for thousands of events around the region, including weddings, proms, corporate and university events, birthday parties, family reunions and sightseeing tours. The company said it will provide refunds and offer referrals to customers with reservations after the closing date.
