PNOF’s Annual Toy Drive Party

-

#ItsGoodToGive: Santa Claus is coming to town for many more children this year, thanks to the annual Pittsburgh North Optimist Foundation’s toy drive which held its signature party on Saturday night at the Fox Chapel Yacht Club. Roughly 250 guests got into the spirit of giving by donating 300 toys and stuffed animals. “Because of their generous support many children will have a very Merry Christmas while they enjoy their new toys,” said event chair Sharon Rigatti. Guests enjoyed nibbles from Walnut Grill, Atria’s, Jimmy Wan’s, Tavern in the Wall, Hartwood, Dietch’s Bar & Grill, Fuhrer Wholesale, Church Brew Works and Blawnox Sportsmen Club before bidding on Baskets of Cheer and enjoying music by The Compadres and Nied’s Hotel Band. Talk about a holly, all!

The Pittsburgh chapter of the Optimist Club International began in 1982. Pittsburgh North Optimist Foundationgives away $20,000 annually and impacts more than 1,000 local children by supporting various youthrelated organizations in the Pittsburgh region such as Tickets for Kids, Backpacks for Hunger, Lauri Ann West Community Center’s Makers Studio, North Hills Community Outreach Back to School Program, Sharpsburg Boxing Center, Give a Gift Program and MLB Jr. Home Run Derby.
