Lewis not ready to leave Bengals

-

Cincinnati Bengals coach Marvin Lewis is not ready to concede the end of his tenure in the league.

ESPN reported Sunday before the game at Minnesota, citing unnamed league sources, that the 59-year-old Lewis does not want to return to Cincinnati after his contract expires following a 15th season with the Bengals.

Lewis denied that in his postgame news conference after a 34-7 defeat by the Vikings, dismissing the story as recycled from the summer and irrelevant to the team’s second lackluster performance in a row.

“It’s just speculation people keep throwing out there. We’re all wasting time talking about it. I have not made any decisions about anything, I’ve told you how many times,” Lewis said.

Panthers

Carolina announced that owner Jerry Richardson is selling the NFL franchise amid an investigation by the league into allegations of sexual and racist misconduct by Richardson in the workplace. The team announced that Richardson is selling the team, linking to a five-paragraph letter by the franchise’s only owner. “I believe it is time to turn the franchise over to new ownership. Therefore, I will put the team up for sale at the conclusion of the NFL season,” Richardson said. “We will not begin the sale process, nor will we entertain any inquiries, until the very last game is played.”

Eagles

Nick Foles hit four different receivers on touchdown passes ranging from 3 to 13 yards in his first start replacing Carson Wentz as Philadelphia rallied to defeat the New York Giants, 34-29. Giants quarterback Eli Manning had his ninth career 400-yard passing game.

Rams

Todd Gurley rushed for 152 yards and scored four touchdowns and the defense and special teams dominated Seattle in a 42-7 victory that kept Los Angeles on track for an NFC West title.
