Toast the new year with truffles, panna cotta, oysters, wines

What better way to ring in a new year than with a toast? A cocktail, perhaps, or maybe even some breakfast toast.

Pittsburgh has plenty of dining options for New Year’s Eve on Sunday. Here’s a sampling that will help you plan your final evening of this year. Note that some of these options offer a literal midnight toast, while others might require you to toast 2018 a little earlier in the day.

Acorn: A six-course dinner will be served in two seatings — one at 5:30 p.m. and the other at 8 p.m. The menu includes squid ink cannaroni with lobster and Rohan duck roasted with blood oranges and prunes. $75, available at exploretoc­k.com/acornpgh. 5528 Walnut St., Shadyside; 412-530-5950; acornpgh.com. Toast to 2018: Chocolate huckleberr­ies and foie gras ice cream topped with smoked sea salt, plus a champagne toast.

Bahama Breeze: The chain restaurant, which has a location in Robinson, will hold a Caribbeani­nspired Junkanoo celebratio­n, commemorat­ing street parades held in the Bahamas, with live music and giveaways. 6100 Robinson Centre Drive; 412-788-5790; bahamabree­ze.com. Toast to 2018: $2.18 cocktails all day from the Legendary Island Cocktail Menu with five drinks, including the Goombay Smash (Cruzan Coconut, Spired and Bacardi Black rums mixed with fresh orange and pineapple juice) and the Dark ’n Stormy (Gosling’s Black Seal Rum with ginger beer).

Braddock’s Pittsburgh Brasserie: Five-course dinner with lobster cream soup, salad nicoise, mussels, foie gras, charcuteri­e, and entree choices of beef filet with cremini mushroom puree and bone marrow lyonnaise, halibut with golden beet roots and potato crisp, or tagliatell­e with lamb and Swiss chard. Cure: The six-course menu highlights the restaurant’s standout dishes, including beef tartare, foie macarons and charcoalro­asted pork.
