Film Office offers designers a red carpet fashion challenge
The red carpet meets “Project Runway” in the first RATED PGH Red Carpet Design Competition by the Pittsburgh Film Office.
To coincide with the PFO’s yearly Lights! Glamour! Action! Oscar gala, presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, designers are invited to submit a design that could be featured at the event.
To be considered, designers must submit a description of why they’re interested in being selected; an explanation of how they plan to incorporate the RATED PGH logo T-shirt (which must be included in all designs); and a sample or depiction of past work. All submissions must be received by 5 p.m. Friday. A selection committee will pick the finalists by Jan. 13.
The selected designers will receive $50 for materials at Loom to create their red carpet looks, which will be worn at the March 4 gala by their own models. The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to Loom, a trophy and more.
Submissions (including cover letter, name, telephone number and email address) can be emailed to info@pghfilm.org, with Attn: RATED PGH Red Carpet Design Competition in the subject line. Official rules and application can be found at www.pghfilm.org/2018-red-carpetfashion
