Dukes offense struggles in loss vs. Saint Louis

A 21-point performanc­e from Rene Castro-Caneddy wasn’t enough for the visiting Duquesne Dukes (13-6, 4-2 Atlantic 10) as Saint Louis’ Jordan Goodwin posted a triple-double (13 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists) to lead the Billikens to 76-63 victory.

Mike Lewis II added 13 for the Dukes while Eric Williams Jr. posted his eighth doubledoub­le with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Duquesne was outshot 54 percent to 30 percent in the opening 20 minutes.

D.J. Forman scored 16 in the second half as the Billikens built their lead to 23 points with 6:52 left.

Duquesne battled to cut it to 12 with 36 seconds remaining, but could get no closer.

The Dukes’ 63 points were their fewest since a seasonlow 59 versus Robert Morris on Nov. 19.

Women

Duquesne 78, La Salle 50: Chassidy Omogrosso and Julijana Vojinovic combined for 44 points in Duquesne’s victory against La Salle at Palumbo Center. With the win, the Dukes (15-3, 5-0 A10) remain undefeated at home. Omogrosso was 9-of14 shooting for 23 points and Vojinovic was 8 of 11 for 21. Each recorded four 3-pointers. Eniko Kuttor and Amanda Kalin each pulled down a game-high seven rebounds and Kadri-Ann Lass added three blocks to her league lead. Adreana Miller led La Salle (6-12, 1-4) with 25 points.

Oklahoma State 79, West Virginia 73: Loryn Goodwin scored 30 points to lead No. 24 Oklahoma State (13-4, 42 Big 12) past visiting No. 17 West Virginia ( 15- 4, 34). Naomi Davenport scored 25 points and Teana Muldrow had 19 points and 11 rebounds for West Virginia.
