Kang is back in Dominican
Jung Ho Kang is still trying to make a comeback. The Pirates’ embattled third baseman — his career derailed by a third DUI conviction in South Korea — is back in the Dominican Republic in an attempt to get a U.S. visa, according to a report from Korean-language website Daum.net. A translated version of the report described Kang’s visit to the American embassy in the Dominican, where he struggled through winter ball, as a last-ditch attempt to return to the United States and play baseball.
“[Kang’s] visit to the U.S. Embassy in the Dominican Republic is the last effort to return to the major leagues,” the article says, according to Google Translate. “… if a work visa is denied, the return to the major leagues will actually [be] over.”
