The Andy Warhol Museum and the Ace Hotel present a Vintage Valentines Workshop at the Ace Hotel, 120 S. A happy hour celebratio­n of the opening of “Revive, Remix, Respond: Contempora­ry Ceramic Artists and The Frick Pittsburgh” will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Frick Art Museum, 7227 Reynolds St., Point Breeze. Events are scheduled for the closing day of “Shelter: Crafting a Safe Home” at Contempora­ry Craft, 2100 Smallman St., Strip District. The exhibition comprises 35 works by 14 artists from the U.S. and abroad that explore the pressing public issues of human displaceme­nt and housing insecurity. From 2 to 3 p.m. a Dialogue with the Artists will feature exhibiting artists sharing their thoughts on their artwork and the issues explored through “Shelter.” From 3 to 4 p.m. a dance, “Rendering Home,” created by Pittsburgh dance artist Kaitlin Flynn Goodwin and Emily V. Koch, will be performed. The work showcases personal perspectiv­es of home and the varying stories that inevitably follow; of displaceme­nt and uncertaint­y as well as of hope and restoratio­n. A poetry reading will be given by City of Asylum writer-inresidenc­e Osama Alomar. He is one of the most well-respected Arabic poets writing today and a prominent practition­er of the Arabic al-qisa alqasira jiddan, the “very short story.” His first full-length collection of stories, “The Teeth of the Comb,” was published by New Directions in April. “FEM_BODIED: Black Female Bodies in Motion” will be presented at the Melwood Screening Room, 477 Melwood Ave., Oakland, beginning at noon. The event is part of the Luna Park Experiment­al Film & Media Series, which will present four guest-curated weekend programs through May 2018. The series presents new and rarely seen works by artists testing form and social, cultural and political structures. Staycee Pearl curates this event with artists Corinne Spencer, Allana Clarke, Alisha Wormsley and Jasmine Hearn presenting a movement workshop and screening series of short films featuring the black female body in motion. The workshop runs from noon-2 p.m., the screening and discussion, moderated by Ms. Pearl and Deesha Philyaw, run from 3-5 p.m. The entire day is $14, or $7 for only the worshop or only the screening.
