Chartiers-Houston advances

-

It was a rare matchup of 2,000-point scorers when Chartiers-Houston took on Leechburg in the WPIAL Class 2A quarterfinals.

What made the matchup even more out of the ordinary is that neither Leechburg’s Mikayla Lovelace nor ChartiersHouston’s Alexa Williamson was on the floor at the end of a close game.

After both players fouled out, Chartiers-Houston (18-5) was able to regroup and hold off the Blue Devils (19-5) and score a 52-45 win at West Allegheny.

Temple recruit Williamson netted a game-high 24 points and hauled in 16 rebounds. Lovelace racked up 22 points, 16 of which came in the second half.
