Mylan veteran board member to retire

Wendy Cameron, a veteran board member at generic drugmaker Mylan, will be retiring after the company’s 2018 annual meeting, Mylan said in a government filing. A group of institutio­nal investors had pushed for Ms. Cameron’s ouster, along with that of chairman Robert Coury, at last year’s annual meeting in June, in part because of outsized pay packages awarded to top executives. The board nominated Pauline van der Meer Mohr to replace Ms. Cameron. Mylan, which is run from executive offices in Cecil, reincorpor­ated in the Netherland­s several years ago.

Koppers earnings take hit from new federal tax reform act

Koppers reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $14.8 million, or 71 cents per share, after taking a hit from the federal tax reform act. The Downtown-based maker of chemicals and wood treatment products said the net loss included a tax charge of $20.5 million, or 92 cents per share, related to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act passed in December. The loss compares with net income of $6.4 million, or 30 cents per share, in the fourth quarter of 2016.

A second hyperloop company has its sights set on Pittsburgh

There’s a second hyperloop company beelining a path toward Pittsburgh. Mayor Bill Peduto met with Hyperloop Transporta­tion Technologi­es, a Los Angeles-based transporta­tion firm hoping to bring the ease of air travel to the ground in various global corridors. The company penned an agreement with 18 partners for a theoretica­l Great Lakes Hyperloop link between Cleveland and Chicago on Monday. It looks like the company would like to add Pittsburgh to the mix.
