CBS All Access show ‘$1’ seeks paid extras

Paid background extras are needed for “$1,” a new TV series being shot in the Pittsburgh area.

CBS Television Studios/CBS All Access will be holding an open casting call from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 10 at 31st Street Studios in the Strip District. The production has openings for children ages 6-12, teens, adults and senior citizens of all ethnicitie­s to play locals in a small Rust Belt town. Other background roles include business executives, diner patrons, steelworke­rs and police.

No experience is necessary; the shoot is expected to begin in March and go through the summer. Extras will be cast according to the needs of the show per filming schedule and will be contacted accordingl­y.

CBS All Access is best known for original series “The Good Fight” and “Star Trek: Discovery.” The new show, “$1,” is described in press materials as following a one-dollar bill changing hands among a group of strangers involvedin a murder mystery.

Jason Mosberg, Alexandre Dauman and Matt DeRoss (”Quarry”) will executive produce the series with Craig Zobel (”The Leftovers”) set as director/ executive producer.
