The past week: The senior guard posted a triple-double of 36 points, 14 rebounds and 10 steals in Winchester Thurston’s 76-57 WPIAL Class 1A championship win against West Greene. She helped the Bears to their first WPIAL championship last year.

Check this out: The championship marked Thorpe’s second triple-double this season. She had 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists against West Greene in a 5838 win Jan. 19. In the PIAA playoffs, Winchester Thurston (19-5) will play Elk County Catholic (15-10) at 3 p.m. Saturday at Canon-McMillan. Thorpe is averaging 22.2 points per game.

What was your reaction after winning a WPIAL championship? Happy. I couldn’t stop smiling. Wow. But I also wanted to soak it all in, because we won’t see it again.

Was it extra special to win it as a senior? Extremely. That was the goal. Every season, that’s the goal, to do that and get it back to the school.

What did you do to celebrate afterward? We actually had a semiformal dance the next day, so I got my hair done. But we went back to the school and cut the net and everything.

Ten steals is pretty crazy. Is that normal for you, or were you just feeling it? I try to be as active as I can, but I guess I was extra active that day and feeling it.

If you could spend the day with one person, who would it be? Probably LeBron [James]. I would want to do workouts with him or something. Something cool or basketball related. Watch his son play. Whatever he does, I want to learn how to do that.

We can go with LeBron. What’s something someone would be surprised to know about you? I’m not really good at rolling my eyes.

Best music to listen to a game? Anything by Migos.

Best Migos song? Stir Fry.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of basketball? I like to watch movies.

Did you watch the Oscars? I did not.

Best movie you’ve seen this year and why? Black Panther. … The message. And the image for the King [of Wakanda]. The way they portrayed him.

What’s the best thing you can cook? Fried chicken.
