Rain, and maybe snow, headed here
1.5 to 3 inches of rain forecast between Sunday, early Monday

Buckle up, baby. Not for the Stanley Cup playoffs, but for another bout of foul weather.
The National Weather Service forecasts that anywhere from 1.5 inches to nearly 3 inches of rain could fall on Western Pennsylvania between 8 a.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday.
If the forecast is accurate, the region will end up with about double the average amount of rainfall for the first 3½ months of the year, according to meteorologist Lee Hendricks.
He said that as of Saturday morning, the region had received 16.26 inches of rain so far this year versus the normal 9.49 inches.
The precipitation could cause area rivers to rise, possible flooding of streams and creeks, “and conceivably mudslides,” Mr. Hendricks said.
The weather service forecasts Sunday’s high will be in the lowers 70s, followed by lows in the mid-40s Sunday night through Monday morning. Highs Monday are expected to be only in the upper 40s.
The colder weather offers the possibility of snow showers Monday night into Tuesday morning, Mr. Hendricks said.
But he doesn’t expect enough snow to add to the 58.8 inches the region has received since Oct. 1. Normal snowfall through over that period is 41.5 inches, he said.
Temperatures should gradually warm up beginning in mid-week, according to Mr. Hendricks.
