Woman charged with prescription fraud
A Baldwin Borough woman posed as an employee of doctors to get prescriptions of Tramadol, a narcotic painkiller, a federal grand jury said.
Heather Summerfield, 37, of Gerry Drive, was indicted Wednesday on counts of fraud.
The grand jury said Ms. Summerfield posed as a representative of physicians’ offices to obtain prescriptions in her name or in the names of fake patients.
For the prescriptions she got in her own name, she also submitted bills to her insurance companies to pay for them.
Ms. Summerfield will be arraigned May 15 in U.S. District Court.
