The past week: Fedko went 3 for 3 in an 18-1 win against Springdale and went 2 for 4 in an 18-3 win against St. Joseph. The senior is hitting .667 on the season, adding 20 RBIs and 22 runs as of Monday’s games.
Check this out: Fedko will be joining his older brother Christian next year on Connecticut’s baseball team. What’s been working for you at the plate this year? You know what, most of my hits have actually been from missing pitches and getting down in the count. … It’s been very weird how I’ve been hitting the ball. I can remember three of my home runs have been on 12 counts, or 2-2 counts. It’s been weird, but I don’t know. I’m seeing a lot of pitches every at-bat and I guess I’m just zoning balls up, I guess. Is it weird not playing with your brother this year? Not at all. I can’t even notice it. It’s not really that weird. You’d think it would be, because I’ve played with him probably for
seven or eight years, but I haven’t even really noticed. It’s more the environment of our team at Vincentian, we set that environment and it hasn’t really changed. How excited are you for college ball? It’s going to be so much fun. My brother texts me after very game and just gives me updates. It just looks like a lot of fun and so many more games than this high school season. Just with the boys every day. It’s going to be a blast. If you could go anywhere in
the world, where would you
go and why? Can it be somewhere local? I’d go to a Buccos game. I love my hometown. Are you a big Penguins fan? I watch Penguins playoff hockey, I’m not really a regularseason hockey guy. So you kind of hop on the bandwagon. I do. I’m a big bandwagoner. You could say that, for sure. What’s the best thing you can cook? Hash browns. I can make some really good hash browns.
Best movie you’ve seen this year? Probably Avengers Infinity War. Without spoiling anything, what’d you think of the ending? I don’t like it because it’s another year until the next one comes out. So that’s just a bummer. But it was a great movie. I didn’t mind the ending, I just, it’s another year. What’s your favorite band at the moment? Mercy Me. I love them.
