Thank you, Penguins, for the thrilling ride

-

Thanks, Penguins! What a ride it has been. As Mike Rupp pointed out on “NHL Tonight,” it has been over 1,100 days and over 300 games since the Penguins were in the handshake line as the guys going home. And they handled it, as well as the postgame interviews, with the class that defines this organization.

Rupper also pointed out the five cups in 27 years, four trips to the finals in the past 10 years, three wins in the past nine years and back-to-back wins in the past two years.

Now the coaches and players can take time this summer to decompress, take a breath, relax, heal themselves and enjoy all of their accomplishments. Next fall, we fans will be here to welcome them back home to the Paint Can to start our next drive for Stanley. CAMILLE MOLINA

Swissvale Costa did in that same period.

If anybody needs anything, Mr. Costa is there for you. If you call his office, things are done within 24 hours.

Not many politicians go to the length that he does. He works long after his scheduled day to help many in need. He does that, and many are not aware of it — but I am and so are others.

I was on the executive committee of the Democratic Party in another state, and I cannot emphasize enough the respect I have for this politician and man.

For anyone to gripe about five dates is absolutely absurd and desperate. ELEANOR KAUFMAN HAAS

District seat, which includes Lawrenceville, Morningside, Friendship, Etna and Millvale, among other areas. She understands that strengthening our communities, schools and local businesses makes Pittsburgh great. She will fight to ensure that people get equal access to jobs and health care. What’s more, she is committed to showing up. Since I’ve been in Pittsburgh, Mr. Costa appears to have ducked my North Oakland neighborhood, while Ms. Innamorato seems to be everywhere.

We need people in Harrisburg who have innovative ideas and are not afraid to debate them in public. It’s time for change. TERESA ANN DePACE
