Pittsburgh’s first rooftop dog park is ready for the pets of people who live or stay at Town Place, which opened earlier this month.

The rooftop “pet terrace” is set up as a dog park, but cats are also welcome at Town Place ( www.bridgestreet.com). Dog guests must weigh less than 50 pounds. A section of the terrace is covered with outdoor carpeting so that dogs can do their business there.

Kossman Development Co. says its 62unit “apart-hotel” at 424 Stanwix St., Downtown, can accommodate both long-term tenants and short-term guests.

BridgeStreet Global Hospitality, which manages the complex, charges an average of $4,500 a month rent for the mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Nightly room rates are $130-$350. There is a $300 nonrefundable sanitation fee for each pet.

Town Place also has an all-season sport court, spa, business center, conference room, video and gamers room, party lounge, library, and grill area. Instead of blinds, each guest can control the tint of the “automated mood windows” to set the level of privacy that they want.
