Gabby Barrett, Michael Ray help celebrate Fourth of July
“American Idol” finalist Gabby Barrett will do a near-victory lap in her hometown when she headlines the EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta Fourth of July festivities in Point State Park, Downtown.
“There’s no better way for me to thank all the people who supported me these last few months than with a special hometown performance,” the 18-year-old from Munhall said in a statement.
The country/pop singer’s setlist will include a few from her favorites, Carrie Underwood (”Good Girl”) and Maren Morris (”My Church”), along with some new music like “Jesus and My Mama.”
The 8 p.m. appearance on the Main Stage at Point State Park is free to the public, but front-stage tickets are available through Showclix.
The lineup also will include music by The Hobbs Sisters, Delta Struts and Stampede. The park will be filled with food vendors and a Kids Zone with patriotic crafts, face painting, airbrush tattoos, caricatures, Amber’s Amazing Animal Balloons (4-8 p.m.) and Stilt Walking Uncle Sam (5-8 p.m.).
The Fort Pitt Museum will do a flag-raising ceremony at noon and offer 18th-century re-enactors, rifle and musket demos, and fife and drum performances. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8; $7 seniors (62+); $4.50 kids ages 6-17 and students with valid school ID; 5 and under free; $6 retired and active duty military.
