Banking

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland said Suzanne K. Mellon, president of Carlow University, was appointed to the board of directors of its Pittsburgh branch.

Communicat­ions

Gatesman promoted Rachel Borowski, public relations/social account supervisor; Nicole Caravella, senior project manager; Jacquelyn Lopez, account executive; Emily Mastroiann­i, public relations/social account executive; and hired Kathleen Sweat, office admin/executive assistant and Justin Taylor, junior staff accountant.

Immediate past board chair Charles “Skip” Homan of Larson Design Group was elected director emeritus of the board.

Henderson Brothers hired Amanda Keller as a business associate in commercial lines.

Liberty Insurance Agency of Pittsburgh said Jeff Dougherty joined as vice president, personal lines manager.

Law

Post & Schell, P.C. elected two associates from its Pittsburgh office as principals in its statewide workers’ compensati­on department. They are Evan D. Dalzell and Heather J. Zambelli. Both counsel and defend employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administra­tors in workers’ compensati­on matters throughout Pennsylvan­ia and Ms. Zambelli also represents clients in West Virginia.

Tucker Arensberg, P.C. said Brian A. Pepicelli and Edward A. Wodarczyk joined the firm. Mr. Pepicelli is an associate in the litigation group and concentrat­es his practice on general civil and commercial litigation. Mr. Wodarczyk has over 35 years of experience as an employee benefits consultant and attorney for a broad range of clients in a variety of industries.

Natalie C. Metropulos joined Leech Tishman Fuscaldo & Lampl, LLC as counsel in its litigation practice group. She will focus her practice in the areas of insurance coverage, commercial litigation and family law.

Burns White LLC said four partners from Clevelandb­ased Gallagher Sharp LLP have joined its firm. They are Kevin C. Alexanders­en, Daniel J. Michalec, Colleen A. Mountcastl­e and Holly M. Olarczuk-Smith.

Meyer, Unkovic & Scott added two new partners. They are: Jo-Anne M. Mineweaser joins its employee benefits practice and Marcy E. Hamilton joins its real estate and lending practice.

Sherrard, German & Kelly, P.C. added Christian E. Stoffan. Mr. Stoffan is a member of its real estate, financial and corporate services groups.

David Villiotti has started the CPA firm Good Steward Accounting, LLC which offers a wide array of services including audit, review, compilatio­n of financial statements, monthly bookkeepin­g, QuickBooks services, budgeting, and tax preparatio­n services for both business and individual­s.

Awards and Honors

Herbert, Rowland & Grubic Inc. was honored at the ESOP Associatio­n’s Annual Awards for Communicat­ions Excellence ceremony in Washington, D.C. HRG received an award for employee ownership marketing. This award recognizes achievemen­ts in advertisin­g the benefits of employee ownership to customers, the community, and the general public.

Professor JoAnn Avoli, Health Informatio­n Technology, The Community College of Allegheny County, received the Pennsylvan­ia Health Informatio­n Management Associatio­n Distinguis­hed Member Award for 2018.

Seton Hill University presented its highest honor, The Elizabeth Ann Seton Medal, to Katherine Donahue Freyvogel. The designatio­n of a contempora­ry woman whose life achievemen­ts parallel in some way that of Elizabeth Ann Seton, the founder of the Sisters of Charity, continues to emphasize the relevance of her life of nearly two centuries ago to the modern era.

The Controlled Release Society said Steven Little, professor, University of Pittsburgh, is the recipient of its 2018 Young Investigat­or award. The honor annually recognizes an individual, 40 years of age or younger, for outstandin­g contributi­ons in the science of controlled release. Mr. Little is the William Kepler Whiteford Endowed Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineerin­g at Pitt’s Swanson School of Engineerin­g.

Washington Health System received The Harry R. Edelman III Quality of Life Award from Presbyteri­an SeniorCare Network. The award recognizes the extraordin­ary contributi­ons in enhancing the quality of life of residents. Washington Health System has been a partner on initiative­s to enhance the quality of medical services and chronic disease management at the Washington campus of Presbyteri­an SeniorCare Network. This has included a geriatric fellowship program for the provision of higher acuity patient services.

Your Holiday Home Committee received The Charles W. Pruitt Jr. Difference Award from Presbyteri­an SeniorCare Network. The award is in recognitio­n for outstandin­g contributi­ons of time, service and support. The committee was honored for hosting a holiday fundraisin­g event that supports the residents of Presbyteri­an SeniorCare Network at the Washington campus..
