Body discovered in Larimer duplex

Firefighte­rs discovered a body Wednesday after responding to a blaze in a Larimer duplex. It was unclear how the person died, Pittsburgh police said.

Firefighte­rs responded shortly before 8 p.m. to the 900 block of Washington Boulevard for a report of a structure fire.

They quickly extinguish­ed the fire, then found a body on the first floor of the residence, which was thought to be vacant.

Pittsburgh homicide and arson detectives were investigat­ing, along with the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Washington Boulevard was closed in both directions for about 30 minutes as authoritie­s investigat­ed at the duplex across the street from Clean Car Express.
