Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix takes over Schenley Park

Once again, car enthusiast­s will be able to watch racers whiz around the track of Oakland’s Schenley Park this weekend while also getting a close-up look at some of the world’s finest rides.

The 36th annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix moves into its race weekend at the Bob O’Connor Pittsburgh Golf Course. More than 150 vintage racers will be on the course Saturday and Sunday, and Internatio­nal Car Show throughout the grounds with up to 20 displays featuring more than 3,000 vehicles. There will also be a vendor village and food court.

The 2018 Marque of the Year is the BMW, making it a focus of the show.

Here is the schedule:

6:15 p.m.: Forbes Avenue of Speed: Vintage race cars parade from the paddock at Schenley Park into Squirrel Hill and are displayed on Forbes Avenue between Shady and Murray avenues. Meet drivers and get up close and personal with the cars. 8:30 a.m.-11:50 a.m.: Practice Sessions 11:50 a.m.-12:45 p.m.: Vintage spectator rides

1-5 p.m.: Qualifying rounds for BMW 2002 Marque Race; Pre-War, Preservati­on and Production Under 1 Litre; Production Under 1.5 Litres; Sports Cars Under 2.0 Litres; Sports Cars Over 2.0 Litre; Vintage Sports Racers and Formula Racers. 8:30-11 a.m.: Warm-Up Sessions 11-11:45 a.m.: Opening Ceremonies and Parades

Noon-4:10 p.m.: Winner’s Circle Feature Races (25 minutes each)
