ABritish cave diver who helpedrescue 12 Thai boys fromdeep within a cave has saidhe is considering suing techentrepreneur Elon Musk.
In now-deleted tweets, Mr. Musk had called Vern Unsworth a “pedo guy” after the cave expert ridiculed a mini-submarine built by Mr. Musk for the rescue effort as a “PR stunt.”
Mr. Unsworth told reporters on Monday that he was considering legal action.
Thailand-based Mr. Unsworth’s knowledge of the cave complex is said to have played a key role in the rescue effort. He traveled into the caves in the first days after the boys went missing and helped bring in top international cave rescue experts for the mission.
Mr.Unsworth had earlier saidthe mini-sub built by Mr. Musk’steam, and flown to Thailandbefore being rejectedas inappropriate for the rescuemission by Thai officials,would have had “absolutelyno chance of working.”
Nicaragua students safe
MANAGUA,Nicaragua —More than 200 Nicaraguan universitystudents were reunitedwith their parents Saturdayafter a tense night ofarmed attacks that left two deadand dozens wounded.
Thestudents had sought refugein a local church after policeforced them out of the NationalAutonomous Universityof Nicaragua, whichhad been occupied duringtwo months of protestsagainst the government ofPresident Daniel Ortega.
Father Raul Zamora said the students came under fire at the Jesus of Divine Mercy church for more than 12 hours. He said a journalist from The Washington Post and a journalist from the BBC exited the church safely earlier Saturday, along with some wounded students who needed urgent hospital care.
Tensions in Nicaragua erupted this spring after the government announced cuts to social security. The changes were quickly reversed, but students took to the streets and occupied the main university with a wider call for Mr. Ortega to step down.
Protesters sentenced
MOSCOW— The four protesters who barged onto the field at the World Cup final in Moscow have been sentenced to 15 days in jail.
The protesters, members of the Pussy Riot punk collective, ran onto the pitch at Luzhniki Stadium dressed as police officers during the second half of Sunday’s match between France and Croatia. They called for the release of political prisoners and for more open political competition.

Putin claims cyberattacks
MOSCOW— President Vladimir Putin says Russian and other security services thwarted nearly 25 million cyberattacks linked to the World Cup.
Mr. Putin announced the foiled attacks after Sunday’s World Cup final — and just before meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, who is facing growing concerns about alleged Kremlin meddling and Russian cyberattacks on the U.S. electoral system.
In remarks released Monday by the Kremlin, Mr. Putin said the attempted cyberattacks targeted “information infrastructure” linked to the World Cup, but did not elaborate.
He spoke at a meeting with representatives of 55 intelligence units from 34 countries.
