Pittsburgh police are searching for a 31-year-old Penn Hills man who officers say attacked a woman and child in Homewood Tuesday, prompting an hourslongSWAT situation.

Reco K. Hall is wanted on 14 felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with theTuesday incident at 7330 Stranahan St., court recordsshow.

A woman who lives in the home, Ave Maria Goines, said she and her 5year-old son arrived home around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday to find Hall waiting by her front door. Ms. Goines met Hall at a cookout on Monday, she said. They were not in a relationship, according toa criminal complaint.

Ms. Goines told Hall to leave and started to go into her house, she told police. Hall grabbed her son and threw the boy to the ground and then pushed Ms. Goines inside, knocked her to the ground and hit her in the face.

He then pulled a gun from a red duffel bag he’d been carrying and pointed it at her face while threatening to kill her, she told police.

He eventually put the gun back in the bag, and Ms. Goines ran from him, grabbed her son and got onto a bus that was pulling upnearby, she told police.

Ms. Goines rode the bus around the corner and then called 911 at 6:55 a.m.

About four minutes later, a Zone 5 police officer saw a man who matched Hall’s description going into the building on Stranahan Street, according to the complaint.

Several officers set up a perimeter around the building and tried to make contact with anyone inside. No oneresponded.

SWAT was then called to the scene. During this time, Hall called Ms. Goines on her cell phone and asked her to bring the red duffel bag to Dean Street, which she refused to do, according tothe complaint.

The SWAT team eventually forced entry into the home and found Hall was not there. They did discover a red duffel bag with two guns and an unknown gray powder in a baggie labeled “Nitro,” according to police.

The 5-year-old boy was treated for concussion-like symptoms and released. He told officers that the man threw him down and “that it was scary and that it hurt.”

Hallis wanted on assault, weapons and drug charges and is also charged with robbery and making threats.
