Cleveland, receiver Bryant finish two-day visit

-

The Dez Bryant watch is ongoing.

The free-agent wide receiver’s visit with the Cleveland Browns concluded late Friday morning, but conversations between the two sides will continue.

The visit began early Thursday afternoon, and the encounter the Browns had with Bryant and his agent, Kim Miale, apparently went well.

As Bryant made the rounds Thursday at Browns headquarters in Berea, Ohio, he briefly appeared on their in-house radio show, Cleveland Browns Daily, to flirt with the idea of joining theteam this season.

“I’m happy to be here, you know excited, you know just trying to work out some things,” Bryant said. “It’s a lovely place.”

When CBD host Nathan Zegura told Bryant he would look good in brown and orange and reminded him he donned an orange uniform in his college days at Oklahoma State, Bryant said, “Yeah, I did. I’d still look good in the brown. We’ll see.”

Zegura said on the air Friday that if the Browns are going to reach a deal with Bryant, it’s not expected to happen until early next week partly because other teams are interested.

Bryant, 29, made three Pro Bowls in his eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before being cut in April. From 2012-14, he compiled more than 1,200 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons. His best production since then came last season, when he caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns.

Wide receiver Albert Wilson kneeled and defensive end Robert Quinn held his right fist in the air Friday during the national anthem before Miami’s game against Carolina at Bank of America Stadium. Wilson and Quinn also protested during the national anthem prior to last week’s preseason opener at home against Tampa Bay.

Oakland is considering holding training camp in Reno, Nev., when the team moves to Las Vegas before the 2020 season. Team president Marc Badain toured potential training sites at the University of Nevada and two high schools. He told reporters after the tour with Reno mayor Hillary Schieve and others that he is committed to making sure the training camp is in northern Nevada.

Top draft choice Isaiah Wynn tore his left Achilles in a preseason game Thursday night against Philadelphia and will miss the 2018 season. Wynn, an offensive tackle/guard out of the University of Georgia, had been working as the Patriots backup left tackle. The injury occurred when Wynn was pass blocking and came up limping.
