Tomlin frustrated with calls by officials

Pressed as to the extent of the injury, Tomlin said: “Just the bumps and bruises associated with play. That was the postgame [diagnosis], if you will. We’ll see how he is [Wednesday] morning and let that be our guide. It’s just full disclosure on my part because I know you guys will ask.’’ He then laughed. An elbow injury ended Terry Bradshaw’s career in 1983. He was 35.

• DeCastro had some sort of support on his right hand/forearm Monday, then removed it. Opinion: A broken hand won’t stop him from playing Sunday against Kansas City.

• Tomlin wasn’t happy a review did not overturn a call on a punt return in Cleveland. With Jabrill Peppers back to return for the Browns, the ball appeared to hit teammate Nick Chubb’s helmet, and there was a scramble for the ball that Sean Davis recovered. Officials ruled it had not touched Chubb and replay officials in New York (hello, Al Riveron?) upheld the call on the field, giving Cleveland the ball.

“All of us saw the ball hit that guy,’’ Tomlin said.

“Why that play was not corrected, I have no idea. Ask New York; they felt comfort talking about the hit on Ben was inappropriately officiated. I’d be interested to see their comments regarding that play.”

Tomlin was referring to a league statement saying officials got it wrong Sunday when they penalized a hit by Cleveland’s Myles Garrett on Roethlisberger for unnecessary roughness.

• Veteran Jesse Washington wrote a long piece for The Undefeated that appeared last week titled, “Antonio Brown is an Instagram All-Pro. But is that the full picture?”

He detailed much of the back and forth Brown has had with others and his family on social media. Brown apparently did not enjoy the article, because he tweeted this:

“@jessewashington wait to I see you bro we gone see what your jaw like” Sure reads like a threat. • Bell is persona non grata for now.

“Nothing has changed regarding us,” Tomlin said. “We’re preparing to play this week with the guys who are here and working, James being central to that. If and when any of that changes, I will let you know.”
