Family House’s 35th annual Polo Match

-

#ReadySetPolo: It was a breezy, beautiful Saturday as more than 2,000 polo enthusiasts pulled out their picnic baskets at Hartwood Acres to enjoy polo while supporting Family House. Hoddy Hanna said this 35-year commitment to provide affordable, low-cost housing began when one of his friends, a surgeon, told him how families needed places to stay while waiting for a transplant for a loved one. “And what’s great about Family House is that everyone there is going through the same thing. It’s like a built-in support system,” he said. Looking across the field at all of the people who come out to support this unique organization, it was hard not to feel pride in Pittsburgh. “People support one another here,” said Jennifer March, executive director of Family House. “This event has so many moving parts but everyone, including the polo players themselves, love being here. I want people to walk away from this event and think about how their contribution makes a big difference for our families.” The event raised more than $250,000.
