Carnegie Mellon University’s CyLab is working with Amazon Web Services, Infineon Technologies and Nokia Bell Labs to make more secure systems for the “internet of things.” Through the program, CyLab will develop a suite of hardware and software solutions to address scalability, speed, cost and other challenges in IoT.
Wall Street salaries highest since 2008 crisis, report finds
Salaries on Wall Street rose last year to their highest level since the 2008 financial crisis, according to a report by New York state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. The report puts the average salary in New York City’s securities industry in 2017 at $422,500, a 13 percent increase over the year before.
Coca-Cola ‘closely watching’ cannabis in wellness drinks
The Coca-Cola Co. says that it’s “closely watching” the growth of the use of a non-psychoactive element of cannabis in wellness drinks. The statement came after reports that the beverage giant was in talks with a Canadian cannabis company to create a cannabidiol-infused beverage. CocaCola and Aurora Cannabis Inc. both declined to confirm the reports by BNN Bloomberg.
