Blocked kick costs Dukes

Colonials routed; CMU loses on FG

A blocked extra-point in the second quarter was the difference in Duquesne’s 21-20 loss to Bryant Saturday in a Northeast Conference opener at Rooney Field.

The teams traded touchdowns until Bryant held the Dukes (3-3, 0-1) scoreless in the fourth quarter.

Bryant (4-1, 2-0) went up for good on a 24-yard touchdown pass from Price Wilson to Alex Rasmussen with 1:01 left in the third quarter.

Daniel Parr threw for 239 yards and two touchdowns for Duquesne. Both scores went to Stew Allen. A.J. Hines also scored for the Dukes on a 5yard run.

56, Robert Morris 35: The Colonials (1-4) never figured out how to stop the visiting Blue Devils (1-3), who scored the final 21 points of the game and punted only once. Robert Morris quarterbac­k Jimmy Walker threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns, both going to Matth Gonzalez. Alijah Jackson ran 16 times for 130 yards.

Waynesburg 24, Carnegie Mellon 21: The visiting Tartans (2-3, 1-3 Presidents’ Athletic Conference) lost on a field goal with 1:56 left in the game. Waynesburg improved to 3-3, 3-2.

Slippery Rock 30, IUP 27: Wes Hills scored from the 1 with 2:12 left for visiting Slippery Rock (5-1, 3-0 Pennsylvan­ia State Athletic Conference). IUP fell to 4-2, 1-2.

Washington & Jefferson 44, Case Western Reserve 36: Jordan West scored six times and totaled 339 yards from scrimmage for the host Presidents. Washington & Jefferson, remained unbeaten, improving to 6-0, 5-0 Presidents’ Athletic Conference. The Spartans fell to 4-1, 3-1.

California 41, Clarion 27: Noah Mitchell threw for three touchdowns as the visiting Vulcans remained unbeaten in the conference. California (4-2, 3-0 PSAC) found the end zone on its first four possession­s. Mylique McGriff ran for 140 yards and scored twice for Clarion (4-2, 2-1).

Saint Vincent 35, Thiel 13: Zavion Thompson threw for 281 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Bearcats (1-4, 1-3 PAC) to their first win of the season. Thiel fell to 0-6, 0-5.

Gannon 48, Seton Hill 28: Marcus Jones ran for 268 yards and four touchdowns for host Gannon (1-5, 1-2 PSAC). Seton Hill fell to 0-6, 0-3.
