Kraft Heinz alters management

Kraft Heinz is moving the president of its Canada operation to become head of strategic initiative­s and mergers and acquisitio­ns in Chicago. Carlos Piani will be replaced, effective Jan. 1, in Canada by Nina Barton. Ms. Barton is now president of global digital online growth in the food giant’s Chicago office and she’ll continue with that, as well.

UPMC Susquehann­a announces expansion plans

of a $100 million physical medicine and rehabilita­tion center extending from the UPMC Susquehann­a Tower and a $13 million investment in the UPMC Susquehann­a’s Cancer Center at Divine Providence, which will be renamed UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. The six-hospital health system joined the UPMC network in 2016.

Integra Realty acquires longtime Oakland firm

Kelly Rielly Nell Barna & Associates is merging with Integra Realty Resources, a Denver-based real estate valuation and consulting firm. Located on the Boulevard of the Allies, Oakland, Kelly Rielly was founded in 1962. Anthony Barna has been named senior managing director of IRR Pittsburgh, and Brian Kelly and William Rielly have been named managing directors.

DePasquale: Highmark, UPMC should put patients first

Pennsylvan­ia Auditor General Eugene DePasquale Tuesday issued a statement urging UPMC and Highmark to focus “on what is best for patients” as they move to the conclusion of their contractua­l relationsh­ip on June 30, after which Highmark Medicare Advantage members will no longer have in-network access to UPMC hospitals. The Medicare open enrollment period began Monday and runs through Dec. 7.

Employers post record number of open jobs in August

U.S. employers posted the most jobs in two decades in August, and hiring also reached a record high. Job openings rose a slight 0.8 percent to 7.14 million, the highest on record dating to December 2000, the Labor Department said. That is also more than the 6.2 million people who were unemployed that month. Yet, raises have been modest. Average hourly earnings rose 2.8 percent in September compared with a year earlier.
