Donald dominates for Rams
Aaron Donald and a dominant defense kept taking the ball away from the 49ers and Todd Gurley turned those turnovers into touchdowns to keep the Los Angeles unbeaten after seven games.
“With the offense we have to just keep feeding and feeding them ball,” Donald said.
“If we do that, they are going to put points on the board. Our offense is so explosive. We know that if we give them the ball good things are going to happen.”
Donald and the defense made things easy for the Rams high-powered offense with seven sacks, two interceptions against C.J. Beathard and two fumble recoveries, including one that Donald just ripped out of Matt Breida’s hands.
Donald had four sacks, six tackles for a loss, five quarterback hits, the forced fumble and fumble recovery.
Browns
Cleveland played its fourth overtime game this season on Sunday. The previous time a team played four overtime games in one season was the 2011 Arizona Cardinals, who won all four games. The Browns are 1-2-1. The four overtime games are one shy of the record five Green Bay played in 1983.
Patriots
New England lost rookie running back Sony Michel to a knee injury. Michel had to be helped off the field after he was tackled on the first play of the second quarter. In the previous three games, Michel rushed for 316 yards and four touchdowns.
Bills
LeSean McCoy was injured on Buffalo’s second offensive play when he hit his head going out of bounds. He was placed in the concussion protocol and his status for next week is unknown.
Buccaneers
Chandler Catanzaro hit the longest overtime field goal in NFL history, a 59yarder to give the Buccaneers a 26-23 win against Cleveland. The previous long was 57 yards by Oakland’s Sebastian Janikowski against the Jets Oct. 19, 2008.
