Local extras needed for Seth Rogen ‘Pickle’ movie

- By Sharon Eberson

Extras are needed for Seth Rogen’s “Untitled Pickle Project,” a Sony Pictures movie that is scheduled to begin filming in Pittsburgh on Oct. 29.

Mosser Casting said the film “is believed to be Seth Rogen’s newest movie,” although The Hollywood Reporter writes that it has confirmed the project. Brandon Trost will make his directorial debut, with Simon Rich writing the screenplay based on his New Yorker novella, about a young family man who “falls into a factory pickle barrel and emerges, one hundred years later, into hipster Brooklyn,” THR reports.

Mr. Rogen has been working on the live-action film of Disney’s “The Lion King,” in which he voices Pumbaa to Billy Eichner’s Timon.

Extras must be able to work 1214 hour days, and those chosen will make $10 per hour for the first eight hours, then be paid time and a half for work beyond eight hours.
