A fugitive wanted in the slaying of a New Castle woman, her 10-year-old daughter and another man surrendered Monday to authorities in Detroit.

Anthony L. Cooper, 19, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Detroit, where he is from, the New Castle Police Department announced Monday afternoon.

New Castle police said on their Facebook page that they learned earlier in the day of the arrest and said that Mr. Cooper will be extradited back to New Castle for prosecution in the triple homicide that killed Nichole Pumphrey, 31; her daughter, Amariah Emery, 10; and Lawrence Cannon, 31.

No one from the U.S. Marshals Service in Detroit could be reached Monday afternoon. But Supervisory Deputy U.S.

Marshal Jon Gallagher in Pittsburgh confirmed the arrest.

He said Mr. Cooper turned himself in without incident to a Marshals-run fugitive task force.

Mr. Cooper has been lodged in the Andrew C. Baird Detention Facility, a county lockup, in Detroit.

Police had been seeking Mr. Cooper since shortly after the killings on Oct. 16.

He is charged with three counts of homicide, three counts of criminal conspiracy, attempted homicide and a gun offense.

Police have already taken into custody Steven Procopio, 19, of New Wilmington, who was charged with three counts of homicide for the shooting that occurred sometime between 8 p.m. Oct. 15 and 6 a.m. Oct. 16 at Ms. Pumphrey’s home at 819 W. North St.

Officers also charged another Lawrence County resident, 41-year-old Jody Hammer of New Wilmington, with obstruction of justice in relation to the case.
